Hatha Yoga describes any of the physical practices of yoga. This hatha class is a gentle, basic class with no flow between poses. This class is a slow-paced stretching class with some simple breathing exercises. This is a good place to learn beginners’ poses, relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with yoga.
Gentle Yoga Flow
This yoga class is called yoga flow because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. You must have at least 3 months of yoga experience for this class and have taken the intro to yoga workshop with Sara and / or several yoga private sessions with her or another experienced certified yoga teacher- if you have injuries, you must already know how to modify your poses please.
Yoga Wall Rope
Yoga rope wall class used mainly the ropes that are securely constructed into the wall. We use the rope wall for balancing poses, forward folds, inversions and or other poses for balancing, strengthening and spinal extending, releasing hips, opening shoulders, and etc- plus it is a lot of fun!
Very empowering, loving yoga class that all can do with emphasis on stretching, opening, and healing the body. Chair is used the whole time as well as many other props such as blocks, straps, blankets to name a few. We end the class with a very wonderful relaxation session.
Total Body Strength Class
This class is great to learn and brush on fundamental yogic alignment along with using small hand weights to build strength and confidence. It is a great class for most of us that are on the computer a lot or if you have not worked your upper body a lot lately!
Sunday Afternoon Yoga
Wonderful class to celebrate our bodies to do yoga and have fun with trying many different poses- a bit of meditation and philosophy, too. Bring your great attitudes and smile and join ours!
Restorative Yoga & Healing
We use bolsters (huge firm pillows) to rest over and against and over in different positions- This type of yoga will nurture, restore, renew and balance the body, mind and spirit very nicely- In addition to the yoga poses done with bolster, we practice and learn energy medicine to balance out our energy body even more and to release stress-this class allows one to feel a whole lot better!
Teacher will guide the student to flow our attention to different things – then student is guided to focus on breath and other visualization images. Silence is enjoyed for a few minutes as well. This class is for all levels. Normally, guided Meditation classes are 45 minutes long.
To really understand Yin Yoga, or any form of yoga, one must experience it. However, Yin Yoga created by Paul Grilley is a very lovely and kind deep stretching yoga class.
